GrowFrom

Hello my fellow Productivity App contributor!

Let’s face it, getting users for your app is hard work. If you’ve already launched your app, you know this. If you haven’t, you’ll learn it soon.

Why? Because the App Store/Google Play Store will bury your app under thousands of other apps.

To get users at any scale, to get visibility, you’re going to need massive marketing efforts (time/money), which will very likely cost more than anything you can recoup in users. Based on my own experience marketing GrowFrom, getting people to click on ads costs between $2 and $4 (and that’s not even converting them into downloads or usage).

So, unless you’ve got a star-powered/celebrity network to go viral, all the hard work you’ve put into building your app and your hopes for making lives better might go to waste- regardless of how good your app is.

But what if there was a better way? A solution that requires little effort from you and can dramatically increase your visibility?

The GrowFrom Co-operative Solution

In many industries, there are things called Co-operative Associations. These are groups of somewhat competitive companies who recognize that by working together, they can expand their influence in the market.

I’d like you to consider joining the GrowFrom Co-operative Association.

Through our cooperation we can increase our ability to reach enthusiastic users who are looking for tools like the one you’ve created.

A Marketplace for Productivity Tools

Imagine bringing your app into a marketplace dedicated to productivity; an entire audience of enthusiasts all looking for tools just like yours to take the next step in their journey.

Like tradeshows, the marketing appeal comes from having many vendors together in one place. This immediately attracts a more qualified audience. This approach will give you a more direct way to showcase your unique value proposition and increase user adoption.

Growth of the marketplace will equal growth of your visibility too, so it can be a mutually beneficial arrangement.

So, what would I need to do?

Strictly speaking, you don’t need to do anything. If you want your app to be available in the GrowFrom Marketplace, simply let me know and I can add it. After all, the marketplace will benefit from simply curating a large number of apps.

That said, your engagement would be appreciated. We can create collaborative marketing content like:

  • Sharing Social Media Content
  • Doing collaborative video interviews/podcasts
  • Creating content specifically to make your app look good on the marketplace.

Our team can help you with any of that. If you’re familiar with the AirBnB story, their business success was very much dependent on quality pictures of the homes that were available for rent and so they brought in their own professionals for the early listings… we’re thinking the same way here.

What is the Investment for my “Booth” aka Listing?

This is a collaborative effort. There is no cost for having a listing, but do please consider the level of effort on our side to publish your listing and promote the marketplace. Just because it’s free, doesn’t mean we want a bunch of people who aren’t serious about supporting the collaboration.

We do ask for a modest “proof-of-business-model” fee for the leads you get through our marketplace. Our research suggests you’ll spend $2-$3 on Facebook/Youtube/Google to get clicks, so we’re asking 25¢/lead.

The 25¢ is obviously not going to be enough to support the marketing of the marketplace, but it is designed to show investors that there is some value in creating this type of market so that we might get funding to scale this up much bigger in the future.

Ok, I’m down to try it out. What should I do?

If you’re interested, or at least interested enough to learn more, you can fill out this form below so we can connect.

We can review your app together, get the details together to list it in the marketplace and strategize our collaborative marketing efforts.

Filling out this form is NOT a commitment to join the GrowFrom Cooperative Association. It’s just so we can connect and see if we can add value to one-another’s efforts.
